Greek Turkey Meatballs with Tzatziki: An Amazing Ultimate Recipe

  • Author: Leo
  • Total Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients

For the meatballs:
– 1 pound ground turkey
– 1/2 cup breadcrumb
– 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
– 1 teaspoon dried oregano
– 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 1 large egg

For the tzatziki:
– 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
– 1 small cucumber, grated and drained
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
– 1 teaspoon lemon juice
– Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Follow these simple instructions to make your own Greek Turkey Meatballs with Tzatziki:

1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

2. Prepare the Meatball Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, cumin, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix well until fully combined.

3. Form the Meatballs: Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs—about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet.

4. Bake the Meatballs: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the meatballs are golden brown.

5. Prepare the Tzatziki: While the meatballs are cooking, prepare the tzatziki sauce. In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber (make sure to drain excess water), minced garlic, olive oil, dill, lemon juice, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve.

6. Serve the Meatballs: Once the meatballs are done baking, allow them to cool slightly before serving. Pair them with the tzatziki sauce for dipping or drizzling.
